Never Waste A Good Crisis Comes to Mind

President wants fresh bid for new energy and climate bill. Our nation's alarm clock is increasingly buzzing louder and louder, yet Americans are still snoozing. A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber (Proverbs 24:33-34).

Wake up America! The Obama administration has yet to find a solution to the oil leak(s) in the Gulf, however Mr.Obama wastes no time in finding creative ways to grow government.

"Never waste a good crisis," Rahm Emanuel, the White House Chief of Staff once said. Hillary echoed it too, if you can remember.

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. But what I mean by that it is an opportunity to do things that you could not do before," The Chief of Staff said in a 2008 interview with the Wall Street Journal.

He elaborates, "Things that we had postponed for too long, that were long-term, are now immediate and must be dealt with. This crisis (speaking of the economic crisis) provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before."

Enter a new crisis. The gulf of Mexico oil leaks are a serious economic environmental crisis that promises to destroy a large part the U.S. Seafood industry. Commercial fishing in Louisiana is a $2.6 billion-a-year industry that supplies up to 25 percent of the seafood to states outside Alaska and Hawaii, according to the Louisiana State University Agriculture Center and the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Numerous attempts have been made to contain the leaks with no victory so far. However the Obama administration's mantra "Never waste a good crisis" finds new life amid a new national disaster.

As a master opportunist the President in an interview compared this crisis with the September 11 terrorist attacks.

He told Politico, "In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come."

Obama sets a new agenda for Congress and wants a fresh bid to pass a major energy and climate bill.

The strategy remains the same. Brace yourselves America for more spending, more regulations and more government takeover.

What's next? On Tuesday, Obama will address the crisis in a rare primetime speech to the nation from the Oval Office.

Can you hear the alarm clock yet? It's getting louder and louder. When will you wake up?
