Christians should beware the counterfeit of the Holy Spirit found in yoga and the Kundalini spirit. When most people hear the word “yoga,” they understand it to be an exercise. They envision a person on a mat striking poses and practicing stretches to develop the body and relax the mind. But there is more to it than meets the eye. These poses and stretches embody more than physical exercise. Yoga has power to unleash the Kundalini spirit.

There are many enemies of Christ and His Church and we who call Jesus Lord are in a state of war. Battles are joined, prisoners taken and prisoners set free. Some battles are grand in scale and envelope whole geographical regions, others are like community guerilla warfare and others like personal hand-to-hand combat. All Christians will fight in these battles until the Final Battle is won.

So, like any good warrior, we must know our enemies, anticipate their tactics and be on the offensive. Most of them, if not all, are subsumed under three familiar concepts: the world, the flesh and the Devil. Though separate ideas, they are in fact related to each other and co-dependent. They share a common goal of destroying God's creation overlooking nothing that bears the imprint of God.

The nature of Christ in you is to build, restore and govern. I believe that God has made each of us unique and given us gifts for increase. We know that all churches in the New Testament were apostolic in nature. That nature is relevant to understanding your purpose. The nature of the Church is apostolic and can be found in three words: build, restore and govern. These three traits are in every born again believer. Understanding them will empower you to do great things for Christ.

needed a healing. I had several “medical conditions” in my physical body that manifested in a string of strange ways. The root of it was a whacked out sympathetic nervous system that caused my heart to beat too fast and my blood pressure to rise up to the point that I would become too dizzy to stand. I was taking medications for this “condition” for which there was no cure, and the medications, of course, caused more unwanted symptoms. I needed a healing.

Tracing fear to its roots – and pulling it out by the power of the Holy Ghost.

God has not given us a spirit of fear. So why do we fear? Where did fear first manifest in the soul of man? Like many other problems that plague mankind today, fear can be traced all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Fear’s first manifestation comes shortly before Adam’s fall from dominion. In fact, it had a role to play in Eve’s poor judgment. If we read Genesis Chapter 3 through that lens, we find a perspective on fear we may never have considered – and one that may positively impact our lives.

The Kingdom of God never manifests without a battle. The battle, however, is not really against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers that have crept in unawares.

A newspaper reporter called me the other day to solicit my opinion on an elderly woman’s so-called “divinely inspired concoctions.” Her little shop of mystic wonderments peddles oils, herbs, sprays and candles that claim to bring love into your life, and even get others to obey your every command.

As the reporter described the woman’s mixtures, supposedly potent enough to solve any problem known to man, I couldn’t help but see mental images of the Apostle Paul wrestling the beast at Ephesus. But I digress…

Just like Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal, the time is coming when God’s New Testament mouthpieces will confront modern day merchandisers. The true will defy the false. The holy will challenge the unholy. Until that day, spirits of divination, with a little help from the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, are working overtime to woo God’s true prophets to the side of err.

Awesome changes are taking place in the religious makeup of the world. Scenarios that could hardly have been imagined a decade ago are becoming reality…in India.

“And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth”  (Daniel 2:35).

When King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a great statue made of gold, silver, bronze, iron and clay, Daniel gave the interpretation that this image represented the great kingdoms of man. A stone was then “cut out without hands” that struck the image so that the entire statue was crushed together and became like chaff, while the stone grew, became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

This stone represents the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. Awesome changes are taking place in the religious makeup of the world. Scenarios that could hardly have been imagined a decade ago are becoming reality. What God is doing in the earth is far beyond anything man could do, yet God is working through His people – often the lowly and unknown – who are sold out to Him. As we open the eyes of our understanding to this reality, the Holy Spirit will equip us to participate in His great Kingdom adventure.

Medical doctors call it Usher syndrome. It’s a disorder that causes deafness and gradual loss of sight.

You may have heard about it in the news recently. Jacob, the nine-year-old son of star horse jockey Kent Desormeaux, is suffering from the disease. Jacob is progressively going blind, and more quickly than anticipated. Doctors say in a few more years he may not be able to see at all.

As a parent, this tears at my heart. I can’t even imagine this father’s pain, watching as his son slowly but surely loses his senses of sight and hearing; realizing his son will soon be unable to hear his voice or see his smiling face. But this natural example also awakened my spirit to the Father’s pain in watching some of His own children slowly but surely losing their senses of sight and hearing – through deception.

You’ve heard it said, “When in Rome, do as the Romans.” But what do you do when you are smack dab in the middle of a Muslim nation that disdains Americans, offers little respect to women, and is determined to make sure you know it?

During a recent visit to an Asian Islamic nation I couldn’t blend in. I stood out like, well, like an American woman in a Muslim nation. No burka for me. I’m a proud American woman with red curly hair and freckles. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Christ in me seemed to stir the principalities and powers that wondered why I was there.

To say the heavens were hard would be an understatement. To say the people were rude would pay them a compliment. And to say I didn’t struggle to maintain a positive attitude would be an outright lie. You see my appointed escorts took noticeable pleasure in running me ragged, giving me the silent treatment, leaving me stranded at airports and feeding me unclean food. To say I wasn’t working overtime to be diplomatic in the face of this treatment would be less than truthful.

Spiritual warfare against the mind releases fear, confusion, despair and offense.

Spiritual battles are not fought with fleshly ordnance. scri pture declares, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh” (2 Corinthians 10:3). Spiritual warfare is using the Word of God and your delegated authority to oppose demonic opposition against you.

The Holy Spirit is still giving us understanding of the ghostly powers that battle against us. scripture says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood” (Ephesians 6). The Apostle Paul makes it clear that we are in a spiritual war and declares that, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”

Before we attack principalities and powers let’s learn how to pull down the warring thoughts and imaginations that rise within us. Paul continued, “Casting down imaginations.” An imagination is an image, a picture formed in the spirit of your mind of something unseen. Something that exists only in the imagination is not real unless you give life to it. Have you experienced an imagination today? What did you do with it?
