Yoga is a commonplace word that fifty years ago was rarely known to western civilization. Yet, today, the yoga phenomenon and philosophy are found even in our elementary classrooms. Under the guise of exercise and fun, our children are led in yoga poses imitating frogs, birds, snakes, and cats.

How Yoga Adversely Effects Our Children
God and Grandchildren
Two years ago we joined the ranks of Grandparentdom. We were excited and filled with anticipation. Deb was in the room with our daughter, Megan as she prepared to give birth. I had been privileged to witness the birth of both our children but now it was my turn to play the role of the guy pacing in the waiting room. I fulfilled that role well. Knowing fully that our daughter was in God's hands and that He would take care of her, I still worried. Would she pull through okay? Would our new granddaughter be healthy or would there be complications? The only way I'd know was if someone would come out and tell me.
Everything went smoothly and folks I don't normally consider myself a biased individual but I want to tell you that she is the prettiest little thing I ever laid my eyes on. She's perfect in every way. My little granddaughter and I have formed a relationship. I don't know yet if she really likes me or thinks I simply live to act silly, make funny noises and entertain her. But if she does I'll be happy to fulfill that role. Grandchildren are a great blessing from God. I hope our granddaughter comes to feel like grandmas and grandpas are a great blessing from God too.
Emotional Adultery: How Husbands and Wives Disrespect Each Other
How Husbands Disrespect Their Wives
Husbands who stare at, or flirt with other women may not think they are being disrespectful, but it is very hurtful to their wives. The bible talks about this in detail about how a man is to love his wife. "Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loves the church and gave himself up for her." (Ephesians 5:25)
The Importance of Equipping Kids in Spiritual Warfare
I still remember the look of guilt on the face of a young girl who had come to my office for counseling when she asked me "What is Satanism? Who is Satan? I mean, who created him?" I looked at her for a while, trying to figure out what she really wanted to know. I needed to know whether this was an "I'm trying to trap you to see whether you know what I know" question of a fifteen year old, or whether she seriously wanted to know about Satanism. I prayed, asking God to give me wisdom. I was the school counselor and had given some talks on spiritual warfare at the Wednesday night youth group meetings.
Should Wives Submit
When the apostle Paul asked wives to submit to husband and husbands to love their wives, he had already asked them to submit to one another. Paul was speaking to Christians so the assumption was that the wives should submit to their husbands who loved them so much that they were willing to die for them. How hard is that? We will willingly submit to someone who loves us to that extent. Outside the Christian bonds I wonder how that works. Men are not necessarily smarter than women or make better decisions than women. However, Paul could without fear tell the women to submit because there was no chance of the men not having their best interests at heart because the men were busy loving them as Christ loved the church. God ordained that husbands be the heads of the home - period. Today many husbands have abdicated that role so that the wives have been forced into a role that was never designed to be theirs.
